Northeast Georgia Medical Center Named
One of America’s 50 Best Hospitals
Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is one
of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2013,
according to research released by Healthgrades®.
NGMC is the only hospital in Georgia named to
the list.
“Our organization has received an increasing
number of awards for the care we provide our
patients, but this is no doubt the most
rewarding recognition
we’ve received thus far,” says Carol Burrell,
President and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health
System. “Everyone in this organization –
including physicians, nurses, techs, EMS,
support staff, volunteers, board members and
others – continues to work tirelessly to provide
our patients with elite-level care and prove
that NGMC is making Gainesville, Georgia, a
national destination for health care.”
According to Healthgrades, to be recognized with
this distinction, hospitals must have had
risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates
that were among the lowest 5% in the nation for
a minimum of seven years.
In addition to being named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2013, Healthgrades also recognizes NGMC as: -
#1 in Georgia for Cardiology -
#1 in Georgia for General Surgery -
#1 in Georgia for Gastrointestinal Services -
Top 5% in the nation for Coronary Interventional Procedures -
Top 5% in the nation for Critical Care -
Top 5% in the nation for Pulmonary Services -
Top 5% in the nation for Women’s Health -
