Members of the active and retired medical staff who are committed to improving the health of our community by making a gift of $3,000 or more over a three-year period.

The James H. Downey Society was created to give special recognition to retired or active medical staff members who wish to improve the health of our community through philanthropy by supporting The Medical Center Foundation’s Healthy Journey initiatives. This group of physicians continues the long tradition of healthcare excellence by providing funds for the latest medical technology, delivery of service, education and community outreach that might not otherwise be possible.

Why The Medical Center Foundation Needs Physicians’ Support

For over 50 years, Northeast Georgia Medical Center and local physicians have provided high quality healthcare services for our community. As the community has grown, the challenges of meeting this responsibility have increased. In order to continue to meet the needs of a growing and diverse population, more resources are needed to deliver care, educate citizens for a healthier lifestyle, and improve the health of our community. Gifts to The Medical Center Foundation benefit community health improvement projects such as Hall County Medical Society’s Health Access Initiative and Safe Kids, as well as provide scholarships and continuing education for nursing and allied health professionals.
