"Mapping a way to a healthier community"
Since
1997 the Medical Center Foundation has organized a
series of three-year community wide campaigns to
raise funds for health-specific initiatives based on
areas of great community need.
The Healthy Journey campaigns have raised millions
and funded critical projects including the Ronnie
Green Heart Center, W.D. Stribling Heart Clinic,
Walters Auditorium, Dawn McKibbon Memorial Chapel,
and the Resource Center among many others. Healthy
Journey funds allowed the hospital to add digital
mammography services and to renovate the pediatric
rooms to create a more home-like environment for
families.
Healthy Journey initiatives also target the most
underserved in our community. Through support of
PeachCare for kids and the Health Access Initiative,
Foundation funds have made healthcare available to
the uninsured and working poor.
Hospital employees and volunteers, physicians and
people from every walk of life support Healthy
Journey. In doing so, they become part of the
mission of Northeast Georgia Health System as we
work to save lives, prevent disease, and travel "on
the road to a healthier community."
