Tribute to W. Woodrow Stewart April 30, 1938 – January 9, 2012 W. Woodrow Stewart (“Woody”), attorney at law and faithful friend of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), served as chair of The Medical Center Foundation for 14 years and helped raise over $34 million dollars for our organization and community health initiatives.
He was very proud of our hospital and always spurred us on to greater heights through his service on the NGHS board, strategic planning, finance, and audit committees. He touched our lives in many ways as board member, mentor, advisor, and friend, and left an indelible impression on our entire community through his intellect, wisdom, and servant’s heart.
While he served our hospital and community for love
rather than recognition, Woody will posthumously be
awarded a Georgia Hospital Association 2012
Distinguished Service Award. This is a wonderful,
deserving tribute to Woody, who gave so much of
himself to help others. The Medical Center
Foundation is committed to carrying on the work of
our long-time leader and friend, Woody Stewart, as
we continue through the Healthy Journey Campaigns. |
