For too many communities around the country, there is no local hospital, or the hospital in the community suffers from a weak reputation and services are severely limited. That's not the case for northeast Georgia.

For the seventh year in a row (2006-2012), Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) has ranked #1 in Georgia and in the top 5% in the nation for cardiac care, according to the 12th annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study. Specifically, for 2012, NGMC is:
     • #1 in GA for Overall Cardiac Services
     • #1 in GA for Cardiac Surgery
     • #1 in GA for Cardiology Services
     • #1 in GA for Coronary Interventional Procedures

In addition, NGHS cancer services have received national recognition, and many other services have earned individual national certification and honors for their commitment to excellence and superior patient outcomes.

Quality healthcare saves lives. It is also expensive. New technologies and facilities are needed on an ongoing basis, and insurance and governmental payment sources are paying less and less. To continue to provide the care our community needs, NGHS has taken on a tremendous amount of debt to support our unwavering commitment to caring for the people of our region.
